2018 Event:
Annual Ibadan Sustainable Development Summit, 27 - 30 August, 2018

Ninth ISDS 2018:
University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria

Megatrends that will shape National and Global Prosperity by 2030

About the Workshop

While adopting the United Nations Agenda 2030 on 25 September, 2015, world leaders were unanimous in their belief that the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets are integrated, indivisible and balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, social and environmental sustainability.

However, achieving the SDGs will require deep economic, social, and technological transformations, including the rapid scale up of high-quality social services (health, education) and a shift to low-carbon energy among several others.

The transformation agenda focus on People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership. The agenda being futuristic will definitely be shaped by Mega Trends. These are important dynamics or changes which are bound to impact achievement.
Those willing to present papers at the Summit should submit a short abstract (250-350 words) as well as an extended abstract (3-4 pages). The extended abstracts must be sufficiently detailed to allow the Session Organizers to judge the merits of the paper. It should include a description of the topic to be studied, theoretical focus, research methods, and findings. Priority will be given to papers that emphasise empirical research with clear implications for policy design and implementations.

Participants at this event include principal officers of institutions and orgnisations inlcuding Senior Faculty members, Vice Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts/ Deans, Directors and Head of Departments; Executive Directors, and Unit Directors, SDG Actors / Volunteers and Students.
